Every day that your computer is in use is one more day that it is open to viruses, spyware, malware, and all sorts of other malicious software programs hell bent on impairing the performance of your PC. Generally speaking, almost every PC performance issue circles back to viruses and spyware. So, knowing that, where do you think is best place to begin when trying to restore a computer? Security, of course!

By running weekly checks with your anti-malware, anti-spyware, and anti-virus software, you will be far less likely to be affected by performance impeding Trojans, spyware, malware, etc. Aside from improving your PCs effectiveness, you will also be protecting yourself from password thievery as well as from the prospect of identity theft. However, you should know that the process of fully restoring your computer does not end there — In fact, security is only the beginning.

Help To Restore Your Computer By Following These Simple Tips:

1) Defragment all drives on your computer. This will help sort through and organize all the files on the drive, resulting in smoother performance for your PC.

2) Use the Add/Remove tool to remove any and all unused software. This means old games and software applications you no longer have use for.

3) Manually check through your “Program Files” folder (located in the C-Drive) for files and folders that you no longer use. Even when software & games are uninstalled, their folders are known to be left behind; sometimes empty, sometimes not. By removing these folders, you will free up additional disk space and reduce the overall amount of clutter.

4) Perform regular weekly/bi-weekly disk clean-ups. Disk clean-ups can help clear unwanted and unneeded files & folders on your computer, allowing for much smoother performance.

5) Use a registry cleaner every week. The registry is the main command center of your computer, meaning many of your performance related issues will stem from there. By using a registry cleaner, you will be able to get rid of all the errors that are causing your PC to behave erratically — not to mention, the harmful entries & keys that have been added by nasty Trojans and spyware. Virtually everything you do is recorded by your computer; hence, regular use of a registry cleaner is highly recommended.

As you can see, you don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars to restore your computer. All you need is a little bit of information and the tools to get it done right.

Just a few months ago there was nobody making commercials to support their brand. In fact, in the Midwest it was somewhat of a hard sell. This idea of creating an “instant” commercial to support a product or a service seemed a bit daunting. The concept was too remote to be taken seriously. But since September 2007 this has all radically changed.

I first attended the LBN, (Local Business Network) from an invitation of mine from a colleague. I was of course winded after a trip to New York City and had a bit of a sinus infection. I didn’t take a close look at the topic of that morning’s breakfast network meeting. The presentation centered around the idea of getting a group of people together and cutting video commercials and then putting them on a low wattage television station. I sat there with a complacent smile on my face and watched the proceedings.

I couldn’t help but grin after knowing I had just come back from the Digital Life conference at the Javits Center in New York City. I had just seen technology clock in at the speed of light and had come across many different styles of Web 2.0 tools and services. These included shooting digital video and then distributing it on a whole network of channels via http://www.HelloWorld.com. This technology would allow you to send out video emails, your own web tv shows, and a whole host of subscription options where consumers could pay you to view your content. Now I had to sit here and watch this presentation about getting your own commercial off the ground using traditional equipment and going through a television station. There would be traditional fees associated with this including buying your own airtime.

Web Video Comes Of Age In 2008

As I sat listening to this presentation I had my own commercial ready and processed in my own pocket. I carried my commercial in a video IPOD. I viewed this product as the ULTIMATE business card because it carried my complete message on it. The other thing is that it is web video and can be sent onto many networks and be viewed upon by many people and I pay zero airtime fees.

It has a built in RSS feed so that means I can load it up with popular keywords that explain in depth what I do for a living. Since I can get in touch with people who want to hear from me this has the tendency to be found by the exact people I am trying to reach. Think of it as advertising in reverse. Instead of using traditional search engine methods this type of technology does all the work for me. I can get into tight niche OPT IN environments and gain my fair share of subscribers. They in turn will decide if they want to hire me or not as they view my marketing material.

This is a radical shift in how we gain customers. In the old days we had to work long hours and do many money wasting activities to acquire a small result. In short, it could be very tedious and our outcome would be shy of greatness. This is especially true for companies who are used to shelling out $40 grand for a three month radio contract with WJR Radio in Detroit and the Clear Channel. The same can be said for companies who are advertising on television and spending a small mint on airtime.

The reason why you would want to get involved with web video should be obvious. It costs a lot less than traditional advertising and customers can subscribe directly to you via RSS feeds, (Really Simple Syndication). The real hard costs boil down to getting a good digital camera with a big enough chip to record crisp images, a full light kit and some kind of shot gun microphone, (so you can pick up sound up to 25′). Sounds expensive? That’s the beauty of it. Doing it yourself is actually very affordable. Consider picking up some digital video editing software by Adobe and you’re looking at spending anywhere from $5,000 to $15,000 for studio costs.

This is peanuts when you consider what traditional advertising and video houses charge. Just a year ago I was doing research on getting together a video job done. I had to pay for a “story teller” from the east coast and all the studio time associated with getting a 7 minute clip off the ground. There was also a charge for a truck roll out, light set up, director fees and the bill came out to $65,000. Keep in mind this was all for a 7 minute clip. They had no idea on how to distribute this online or how to generate any kind of traffic from it from a web site perspective. The project ended up never getting produced and no business ever materialized from these long and extensive planning sessions.

My advice: do it yourself.

Surviving In A Selfish Economic Culture

I was waiting for a train in Penn Station, NYC on May 22, 2007. I was looking to get back home from yet another business trip. I noticed something as I walked around 34th street and the surrounding area in front of the train station. Everyone had these mobile devices. These included phones, media players, video ipods and these people seemed to be detached from others around them. They were in their own worlds getting stock tips, weather, sports scores and a whole host of other information. I was somewhat astounded by this because I this was when I saw true potential. There is a wide range of business possibilities associated with this type of technology.

It didn’t bother me that these people were selfish and lost in their own worlds. As a marketer that is precisely where I needed to be. My goal, at this point would be to figure out a way to get my messages in front of them and get them to make some form of commitment. They could either subscribe to my news, visit a web site, watch a video and to take the next step of scheduling an appointment or making a purchase.

Rude Awakening

When I came back to the Midwest I was somewhat surprised at the reaction concerning Mobile Media. The perception, however false, contended that mobile devices were for entertainment purposes only and was viewed upon as a kids market. From this angle kids could download video games and music. Ipods and Iphones and other forms of mobile media were not being taken seriously on a business level.

As I watched this presentation unfold and talk about the long process of getting a producers license and buying airtime I smiled. The revolution and getting your videos seen by the right people in your target market is as simple as learning how to point and shoot a camera and acquiring a few search engine optimization, (SEO) secrets.

It’s no secret that new types of technology can create problems, but apparently HDTV has created some unforeseen problems with consequences that could be surprisingly far reaching. The problem that HDTV has created is namely the fact that many local TV stations are refusing to let satellite TV companies and cable TV companies use their HDTV signals without paying for them.

According to federal law TV providers can’t use the content from local TV stations without permission. And historically, that permission has been granted to sat casters and cable TV companies in exchange for some pretty nominal fees or for promotional consideration.

HDTV has changed that. Instead of providing HDTV signals in the same way that standard def signals have been provided in the past local TV stations- and in many cases that large companies that own a bunch of TV stations- are now demanding significantly more money in exchange for their content. Some figures estimate that TV stations want up to fifty cents for every household that their content is provided to. While this may not sound like much money, when you multiply it by all of the households that the content is supplied to and figure that several stations in any given market are requesting similar amounts of money, that adds up to a pretty significant sum.

The extra money that the TV stations and the companies that own them want is supposedly justified by the fact that HDTV programming costs more to produce than standard def programming. That’s because of the fact that sets for HDTV need to be built bigger in order to accommodate the wider viewing area of the High Def camera, and HD programming requires new and expensive equipment for the filming and editing of HDTV programming. Even local stations have to make upgrades in order to broadcast their news programs and any other local programs in High Def. Of course the other angle of this request for more money could also be attributed to the growing corporate trend of trying to milk profit whenever and wherever possible.

Of course the cable TV and satellite TV companies are trying to resist this any way that they can. They say that they don’t have the obligation to pay in order to carry the channel for two reasons. First, they never have in the past, and second, that same program content is available over the air for free so why should they- and by extension their subscribers- pay for that same content.

Many industry insiders are crying foul about this whole problem though for several reason. (And these are the farther reaching consequences mentioned earlier.) For one thing, many people are claiming that because the subscription services aren’t providing these channels, the subscribers can’t get their local channels. (This seems like a weak argument because, as already pointed out, those channels are already available over the air for free. Apparently the subscribers in question are too lazy to set up an antenna. And if they can’t receive the signals with an antenna, then it’s debatable whether or not those channels are really local for them anyway!) The other major problem is that there’s a fear that if people can’t get their local channels, then they won’t be satisfied with their HDTV sets and then won’t recommend the sets to their friends. That in turn will slow down sales of the sets and jeopardize the planned conversion to digital TV in 2009.

Great Product
This product was as advertised. It was a great value for the money. It functions just like a brand new one and I would not hesitate to buy from this company again.
Why pay for a new one when the reconditioned one from ipodzen is just as good if not better.

Fast and Audiophile perfect
I can't believe I went so long without one of these. It links quickly to my laptop and updates my music and podcasts extremely fast. The only thing that I have noticed is that the scroll seems to pause occasionally when I've played a game. Shouldn't be playing games anyway : )

Apple iPod Classic 80GB
We love it. Still have lots of memery left to fill. Good product, great price and fast delivery.

Awesome for music and movies (on plane, hotel room, anywhere)
I do a lot of traveling and had been watching movies on a laptop when there was enough room. Finally decided to buy a portable devices with my extra per diem and researched them all. For price and hard drive space, the iPod classic is the best.

I watch movies on the plane, while working out, and purchased the accessory to plug it into a TV which makes the iPod into a DVR that can store over 7 days worth of movies.

Getting your DVDs or videos into the iPod format required the most amount of research and learning. There were several free and affordable programs out there, but I started getting more involved in audio and video and for the PC user I recommend [...] you can buy all their software which can do video conversion in almost any format, audio conversion, audio mixing & editing, video mixing and editing and it's a great mix of everything.

all your music in one place!
I've had this product for over 2 years now. I don't remember exactly when I bought it. It has been working
fine ever since I purchased it. Sure it will crash every now and then. Just google your problems and your
problems will be solved. I have not used up all the space either. I want to get the 160gb model. As
my music collection is growing.

I don't know how I would function in life with out this product. I use it everyday. I immediately
hook it up into my car stereo, use it at work, use it while walking, etc. This is the perfect mp3 player to get if you're
a music junkie like me. If your collection continues to grow then you'll want an iPod with more capacity. I have
not touched a single CD since I bought the iPod. I'll rip the CD to my computer and never touch it. I love my mp3's. For one
they never skip, they never wear out. They are reliable. I love my iPod and so glad I had bought one all those years ago. Again
I don't remember when exactly I bought it.

Apple iPod nano 8 GB Green (3rd Generation) OLD MODEL
Despite of the old model of Apple iPOD nano, it was very good price and apprearance.
I got this for my nephew for his birthday gift. It is working fine and is in good condition.

Not worth the price
The Ipod worked well for one year then quit just after the guarantee expired. I emailed Apple to see if they would offer any advice or help, but no response. I won't buy another Ipod. Instead, for about half the price, I'll buy a different brand that will basically do the same job. Then if it fails, I won't feel so bad.

great bang for the buck
This item is all you need in basic video and sound quality. It may be in most people's interest to purchase a new one, but I didn't need a video camera on it or huge memory. There must be thousands of teens with old nanos laying around for purchase. I would easily recommend buying this to anyone over the age of 35.

Ipod Nano 8GB (3rg Gen) Black
Great functioning, easy to use. Wish they made this in a 16GB but great for my use.

katy's old I pod
excellent condittion and price for older generation I pod, perfect as I would have expected it to be.

iPod touch features the same revolutionary interface as iPhone. Built to take full advantage of the large 3.5-inch display, the multi-touch interface lets you control everything using only your fingers. So you can glide through albums with Cover Flow, flick through photos and enlarge them with a pinch, or zoom in and out on a section of a web page. And iPod touch features a touchscreen QWERTY keyboard perfect for browsing the web in Safari, getting directions on a map, searching for videos on YouTube, finding music on the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, or adding new contacts.

Ambient Light Sensor
The iPod touch display has an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness to suit the ambient light in your surroundings. The result? A better experience for you and battery-saving efficiency for iPod touch.

Wireless
Connect to the Internet anywhere there's a Wi-Fi network. Send email from a coffee shop. Surf the web at the airport. Browse, buy, and download music from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store at select Starbucks locations or other wireless hot spots in your area. iPod touch finds wireless networks and connects you to the Internet.

Accelerometer
An accelerometer detects when you rotate iPod touch from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display, so you immediately see the entire width of a web page, your music in Cover Flow, or a photo in its proper aspect ratio.

Refurbished Disappointment
I purchased 4 of these from an authorized Amazon reseller. They are by far in the worst condition of any refurbished item I have ever recieved. The product works fine but looks beat up, all 4 of them.

This iPhone Paid for Itself More Than 10 Times Over in Just 6 Months!
I ran my Amazon business and traded stocks in real-time anywhere I was which was made possible by the iPhone 1st Generation since I got it in 2008. Since then I also paid all my bills electronically, performed banking transactions, e-mail, online shopping, research, school homework, social networking, downloaded music, videos, apps, games, photos, texts, files, and even attachments! The iPhone transformed my life by enabling me to stay connected and respond quickly before I even get out of bed or leave the restroom or while waiting in lines, giving me instant productivity in all the gaps of time wherever I was. It is a very powerful tool when you're running an online business, trading stocks, or just keeping track of everything online. Never before was I able to extract so much productivity in my break time than with the iPhone. The First Generation has a more durable design with its thick solid glass and metal back casing. Since being among the first few to use it, it has paid for itself more than 10 times over, improving my monthly income by over 00! Most of the income comes from trading stocks in real-time. The iPhone's stocks app gave me 24/7 situational awareness of the market's information technology with stock charts, details, and last-minute news all in the palm of my hand with the touch of a finger, I was able to execute real-time trades even at odd times when most people are still in bed, in a toilet or eating breakfast or brushing their teeth or still taking a shower. Anytime is action time when you have the iPhone! It does not just give you information technology, it lets you take action with that information technology--anytime, anywhere! No wonder Apple was able to acquire licenses to ship the iPhone in over 70 countries for export. Soon, the whole world will run business on this revolutionary device. It is a true all-in-one device, replacing my cell phone, portable GPS navigation system, portable media player, digital camera, portable hard drive, cellular modem, portable gaming system, personal digital organizer, personal digital assistant (PDA), phone landline, texting device, and my handheld computer all in one compact device! The touch screen is a very durable thick glass which never breaks nor scratch even after dropping it many times, the super bright screen is powerful enough to light a dark room at night which is also adjustable for lower lighting needs, the resolution is so sharp that you could zoom in on photos with awesome clarity and detail! You can flip photos vertically or horizontally without pressing anything because it does it automatically when you turn the device horizontally or vertically as if it could detect gravity. You can look at google maps with all the details and even see satellite imagery while you're in the middle of nowhere letting you know where you are or where you're trying to go without having to buy or subscribe to anything else other than your original plan. You can use it as a backup drive for all your important files or play all your favorite music and videos from your computer and the from the internet. It can integrate all your internet e-mail into one account so you only have to login once. It even lets you download PDF files and Microsoft Word attachments from your inboxes! I highly recommend this device to all my friends, co-workers, and family just because of its revolutionary life-changing productivity applications and its awesome all-in-one value that I'm buying some of them one for Christmas! The power of the internet will soon become an easy part of your daily routine with the iPhone that it will change your life and help you change the life of those around you for the better as it did for me! I hope this helps. Thanks!

What's missing (& how to get email in a strange city)
The iPod Touch is a great line. I was so happy to get mine when it first came out and still use it constantly. It has been made very useful by a number of great apps. The advantage of getting an iPod Touch is that you only pay for it once, there are no high monthly iphone service fees.

But if you are contemplating purchasing a 1G iPod Touch, you will be missing what the more recent generations have: a speaker and a microphone. Unless you have some very restricted uses anticiapted, i strongly recommend getting a later generation.

Additionally, there are a few things the iPhone has that the Touch line currently does not have (as of this writing):
- camera
- web connectivity even if wifi is not present (by using the cell system)
- gps
- magnetic compass

The last two items are generally needed if you want to play with the new "augmented reality" apps. And lots of mapping and location aware apps (e.g. where is a nearby pizza restaurant?) are disabled on the touches (though there are a few exceptions, e.g. Gaia GPS). However, the touch does triangulate locations based on wifi signals, so if you are in an area with decent wifi coverage, it can figure out where you are anyway (e.g. Paris or Santa Monica California).

Here is a trick for getting and receiving email when you are in a place where you don't have a wifi account. Using the app WifiTrak, set the "Connect and Check" setting to ON. Then as you walk around the area, if it detects an open wifi connection, it will connect and check your email (even if in sleep mode). Then when you sit down for coffee or lunch somewhere, open up your touch, and you will see mail received and sent automatically while you were walking around.

As soon as they release iPod Touches with decent cameras (e.g. better than the nano cameras), I plan to upgrade. If that doesn't happen, I will instead get an unlocked iphone, so that I don't have to pay monthly service fees for it. But in the meantime, the touch is great and has been very useful to me.

Ipod touch 8 GB
The Ipod Touch is a device with an attractive set of features for a mini portable video player. The Ipod Touch is clearly an IPhone's clone without the option to call someone. Most users will also need to buy a protective case to protect it's the front screen and the back is covered with a glossy, scratch-prone feeling. The Touch supports standard AAC, MP3, Audible, WAV, and AIFF. Video format support is the same from the Iphone H.264/MP4 files playability. It includes some cool applications but The Safari Web browser allows you to check anything in a hurry. The Ipod Touch lasted an average of 23 hours for audio playback and 6 hours for video which is more than enough. It features two buttons first one on the face of the player used for calling up the main menu and a screen deactivation button found on the top-left edge of the case. Both the Ipod Touch and Iphone allow users to browse, preview, purchase, and download music from the new iTunes Wi-Fi music store. If you want to play a game it shows you how to play right away. It is an undeniably cool product that continues Apple's design of the latest gadget that is simple to use anywhere you go. Overall this device makes everything simple to use with just a flick of your finger.

Great product
I have been using this product for almost 2 years now. As for amateurs it is great. It does everything it specifies.
The only think I do not appreciate is the digital zoom. It is not perfect but works if you really need it. The battery last long as long as you choose a good one (like Sanyo Eneloop).
5 (amateur) Stars for this product.

battery usage is terrible!
A big part of why I bought this is because it took standard AA batteries--and on a trip I wanted to be able to get the ones at the hotel gift shop and not run out to a camera/battery speciality store. The only problem is that it sucks the life out of batteries. If you try to use akaline AA batteries you will get a low battery reading right when you turn it on. We have had to purchase expensive rechargeable NIMH batteries and the battery life is still unsat. And...I have missed many photos because the batteries are dead again. The previous Canon camera we had took 4 AA batteries, but it worked. The savings in bulk isn't worth it if you miss the photo! Now we bought a second camera that uses the specialized camera batteries I had hoped to avoid.

Canon Camera
Bought this for my wife and she loves it. We bought this to replace a much more expensive Minolta Digital (now owned by Sony) that ate batteries like crazy.

We bought the 2 gig card and carrying case that straps to a belt if you want.
Camera takes good pictures not great pictures like you would have from the bigger 35 mm digitals.

Its small but has a lot of features that the cheaper point and shoot digitals do not have. This also means you need to know a little more about the camera to use all those functions. Yes it does point and shoot if you want to do just that but i would spend less and buy a simpler digital if thats what you wish to do.

Very impressed with battery life. It uses AA's and we only buy the rechargeables. A typical half day at the zoo and hundreds of pictures will not run the two batteries down. I mention this because battery life is a crapshoot with digital camera's and if you get one that eats them up you need to carry a lot of replacements with you.
We like it due to its small size. I just don't care to have that big digital camera around my neck all day long and taking a camera bag with me.

When traveling we take a recharger with us so we always have fresh batteries on hand.

Ripped off by Canon
The camera would not turn on out of the box. It was sent to the Canon repair center and returned in about three weeks. I then took about 20 pictures before it would not turn on again. All the while it was using up the batteries that were in it but none of the functions worked. It was sent in again and then sent in again a year later. The third time it was sent in they wanted .00 to fix the same problem they had not fixed the two previous times. I called customer service and was told that they would not fix the camera because by that time the camera was out of warranty. Be warned, if you have any problems with a new Canon product - insist on a new replacement because they DO NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCTS.

Worst Camera I Have Ever Owned
I was researching online today for a camera to give my daughter for her birthday. As I researched, I found reports ('Best' Lists, consumer report type things) which all had contrary information making the decision practically impossible. I decided to look at the reviews for my personal camera, to establish how others reviewed a camera I considered the worst camera I have ever owned. I was horrified when I saw the reviews, and sick when I saw the high price. I figured for sure I had a different camera (I got mine new for significantly (0) cheaper elsewhere) and so I studied the pictures, even zooming in, to make sure that yes I had the camera and yes it was rated well and selling for over 600.

I have read the other low ratings, so I know what I am in for with this poor rating, but I will not be deterred. When I buy a product, I always look at the lowest rated ones to see the potential problems. Granted, people should not give a low rating for shipping issues, or the time it takes the company to send it, but they should if they would have made a different purchase decision if they had had the information previously. I give a 1 to something I would never purchase again, and would tell anyone considering it to STOP!! and DON'T DO IT!!

So, with that in mind, here goes:

It eats batteries. All types of batteries. Every battery. I've tried everything. If you plan on taking your camera on vacation take several boxes of batteries... NIMH whatever... it burns through them faster than any camera I have ever owned. Absolutely infuriating.

It is soooooooooooooo slooooooooooooowwwwwww to take a picture. To get a picture of the child blowing out the candles of a birthday cake you need to take the picture while they are INHALING!!! Piñata picture? Press the button during the kid's windup (I've actually gotten some pretty cool pictures using this method with candy flying all over).

So, you might think those aren't good enough reasons to give a camera a poor review, you may question my competence, and demand I take a camera class prior to ever reviewing a camera again (or better yet, save everyone's time and destroy my keyboard) but what people don't understand is that with kids, you've got to move fast. You can't be saying "wait, I need more batteries" when they are racing for the tree X-mas morning. It doesn't matter how great the picture quality of the birthday photo is if the picture does not capture the surprised look on their face, but instead captures the wrapping paper being tossed away.

So, with that in mind, and with the overwhelming majority suggesting that I am completely out of my mind, go ahead and decide on your own. Who knows, maybe I just got a lemon...
